For the past couple of years I've recorded a musical Christmas card to send out to my friends. Here they are grouped together in a free mini EP type thing.
So, I recently opened up our home and invited a load of lovely people, some who I knew and and some who I didn't to come and hear us play, along with Carrie Tree and Storme Watson. It ended up being a wonderful and magical evening.
We've got a few gigs coming up, sort of a mini tour and our last gigs of the year...
So, whilst driving through Cheddar Gorge I decided to do a guerilla gig. A quick park of the car, and a short climb later saw me sitting towards the top of a grass bank, that looked much less steeper from the ground :)
Thank you to all the people who stopped to listen to me at the many guerilla gigs I did around this years End of the Road festival and for all the wonderful feedback I received from people afterwards.
I think my two favourite gigs were on the top deck of the doubledecker bus that served tea and cake and the last gig I did in the woods on Sunday night, to a small crowd of appreciative listeners.
Big thanks to Glastonbury Podcasting who recently played a recording of our song "Motorway Song" on the September Edition of their show.
You can find out more about them and listen to the show at www.glastonburypodcasting.com
oooh look... it's the new Sugardrum EP, now available in CD format as well as a download from iTunes, Amazon mp3 and numerous other online stores. Hurrah!
Sugardrum recently had a song played on the Quentin Woolf Arts show... and you can now download the full version of the show, complete with the song, "Where Once were Roads" in the middle of it.
Yay! Massive thanks to Mark Hellewell who recorded and recently uploaded the semble vs sugardrum gig we did as part of the wupadupa Freedom Festival for Amnesty International last October.
You can find the Sugardrum videos on our youtube channel and below...
Thank you to all those who came to see me and Matt play at Glastonbury last weekend. I had a great time and ended up doing around 7 gigs altogether, a couple on my own but mostly with the amazing Matt Kelly.
Thank you also to the equally amazing Matt Tweed who did some great bazouki playing with me at my 4.30am gig on Wednesday night/Thursday morning and did sterling work getting the cafe to keep us fuelled with Brandy Hot Chocolates :)
For those going to Glastonbury Festival next week, here the times and places I'll be performing, all in the Green Futures Field area...
Yay, the new sugardrum EP, Where Once Were Roads, is now available to purchase and download from itunes and amazon for the bargain price of around £3.
our new ep is due for release soon, initially as a download and then later as a cd.
I've just added a player to the music page where you can listen to all 4 tracks form the new ep.
I had lots of lovely feedback after the solo gig I did at the beginning of Martha Tilston's gig at the Rose Theatre in Kingston recently. A number of people asked some interesting questions which I thought it would be good to share the answers for here...
At last! I've finally managed to find the time to update the lyrics section of the site!
Just click on a song title over there on the right, and the lyrics for that song will magically appear on the screen.
